Leaving The Table

When it comes to our relationships with people, places, projects, programs, etc - if whatever is being “served at the table” stops feeling nourishing or being respectful and healthy, then we need to be able to push our chair away and get up to leave.

Oftentimes, when we first meet people they start out by dishing out a bunch of goodness. So much so that it makes us want to sit down and take a seat at their table.

But somewhere along the way, things can start to change and what we’re on the receiving end of now is no longer good for the body, mind or soul.

Today on The Karen Kenney Show, we’re talking about the importance of being able to walk away when it’s time or if it becomes necessary.

This doesn’t mean we can’t be grateful for the time we had while sitting at someone else’s table, but it’s best to not overstay our welcome, or to put up with things that we know aren’t right.

We all deserve to have a seat at the table where love is being served and when it stops feeling like love, like the great Nina Simone says, “You've got to learn to leave the table, when love's no longer being served.”
